How to put the Lat Long Co-Ordinates symbol of Degrees into Google Maps and Google Earth

You have a set of co-ordinates such as 23- 6' 44" S and 119- 7"31" E and you want to punch them into Google earth or Google Maps, but don't know how to put the Degrees symbol in?

For mac simply press Option Shift 8 and the degrees symbol will magically appear

and

for Windows hold down Alt key and type in 0176 (zero, one, seven, six) make sure number lock is on, and don't forget to put the ' symbol in and the S and E.
